I'm a sickly person

So, on Monday I started feeling kinda weird, mostly with just a sore throat. But it didn't really start bothering me until Tuesday night. When I woke up on Wednesday morning, I felt like crap. My throat has seemed to be getting progressively worse, and my stomach has been starting to hurt along with my head. So I didn't go to school yesterday, and it hadn't really occurred to me that I might have more than a common cold until we sat down at dinner last night and Amanda asked what was wrong with me and Dad said that I have Strep Throat. I was a little confused at first, because we hadn't really talked about this, but now that I think of it, it does make pretty good sense. My throat has started hurting really bad out of no where, and it's getting hard to swallow and I just have an overall yucky feeling. I was pretty sure I was going to go to school today, but I kept waking up in the middle of the night, feeling like crap. I tried to cough because I felt like I could clear it out or something, I'm not entirely sure what I was thinking, but it hurt like no other. I just feel like I have something stuck in my throat and it's impossible to get out. So, I think I'm going to go with the fact that I have Strep Throat. Plus, if I do, it's probably best that I didn't go to school today, since apparently Strep Throat is really contagious. But I'm drinking lots of water, and hoping I'll be better soon.

Sam's Swing

Sam is being very cute this morning! I put him in his swing while I was making breakfast for myself (Cream of Wheat, what else?). When we first put the swing together, he didn't like the actual swinging motion because it swung rather violently. I don't know if it swings less frenetically now because he's heavier, but this morning I thought I'd try it again, and he enjoyed it a great deal. He almost fell asleep, but I wouldn't let him. I'm a mean mommy like that.

Apartment 173

Alright, finally it's working. Anyway, this is me at my friends' apartment a few nights ago. I went over there to watch a movie, and this is sort of before the rest of the people showed up. You'll all probably think it's very boring, but I know Amanda wanted to see it and see some of my friends.

Yesterday, my ward went to the ice rink and we played broom hockey. It was a soccer ball and these weird hockey sticks in the shape of brooms, and we just ran around (in our regular shoes) playing hockey. It was very, very fun, but everyone got really bruised up from slipping (regular shoes do not have good traction) on the ice. I didn't get any pictures, but if I can get some from the ward photographer I'll post them.

That's all for now!

Sammy Boy

Sam came over to the house on Sunday, and had a little awake time while he was here. So . . . thought we would share him with you. If you haven't seen him for awhile, you may be surprised. He seems to be growing like a weed, and is doing very well. He weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. at the doctor the other day!!

My Health teacher, The creeper. (By Caitlin)

So, tonight I got permission to call my Health Teacher weird from Amanda. I don't have much time, so I'll just write a few of the questions that convinced Amanda that he really is "weird".
(We're on our Sex Education unit, so that somewhat explains why he's asking these questions. Key word: somewhat)

"Are any of the ladies in here experiencing menstrual cramps right now?"
It was silent, and he proceeded to explain why we have cramps.
"Well, it's because every one of your bodies wants to get pregnant, and when you don't get pregnant, your body says 'Aw shucks! This sucks! But next month we are gonna get pregnant, so we have to practice.'"
And by practice, he means we have to practice giving birth, which is why we have cramps.
Creepy old man.

"Can any of you ladies feel when you ovulate?"
(Once again, it was silent)

Which leads me to the strangest, and creepiest question in my opinion:
"Have you girls ever woke up and thought 'I'm going to make myself extra pretty today.'? Well, that's your body trying to attract sperm, because your body wants to get pregnant."

One word:
WEIRDO!

New Year

Well, I hadn't really come up with a New Year's Resolution until this morning when my friend Rylea messaged me on Facebook and told me about this new blog they're starting. Basically, everyone who joins this blog can write one good thing about their day at the end of the day. I think it sounds like a good idea, so I guess I'm joining. I think I could definitely be more optimistic.
